Keuneke wrote "The men who attacked her spewed hateful transphobic and queerphobic rhetoric throughout the attack. She was severely injured and taken to the hospital for two nights to treat two broken orbital bones around each eye and a fractured shoulder."

One contributor wrote "My niece worked with Charlotte and thinks she is a wonderful person. I can't express my frustration that she was attacked for being who she is. Our society needs to be better than this."

Another wrote "I met Charlotte when my daughter and she worked together at a previous job in retail. Charlotte is so kind and competent, and my daughter enjoyed having her as a manager. My heart hurts that she experienced this horrific brutality. There are so many more of us who love and care than fear and hate."

Charlotte Osieczanek posted an update Sunday to her gofundme page:

" Happy Halloween to you all! Wanted to give a little update on what I can! Firstly there are no words in the English language that can convey my gratitude that Corvallis and all of you have shown me. This is humbling beyond belief and so very thankful that there are people that care about me and the LGBTQ+ community! As such I also encourage you to donate also to the Queer center here in Corvallis or your own favorite LGBTQ+ organization! I'm very lucky to have the support I do but there are plenty of others that are suffering that need help as well! :)

A quick update on how I'm doing as well; doing a lot better, been resting a lot, sleeping 14hrs at time and laying low as to make sure the investigation is handled properly!

Complete diagnosis is Fractured nose, both orbital floors fractured, fractured sinus wall on the inside of my skull, fractured shoulder, bruised ribs, and bruises a few places as well as severely bruised knees with abrasions all over! And the cherry to top it all of is that I did test COVID positive while in the ER, but I am asymptomatic, vaccinated, and everyone that I was in close proximity has tested negative! But using it as extra time to be safe, rest and recoup before life gets busy!

Thank you all again for your support and will update more when I can! I love you all more than you know and together when we make this world a better place for every human of every walk of life!"

US State Department issues First Gender Non-Binary Passport

US Passport

The State Department has issued the first US passport with an "X" gender marker as it seeks to implement gender-inclusive policies, the department announced Wednesday.

The department announced in June it will no longer require medical certification" if an applicant's self-selected sex marker doesn't match the sex listed on other official identity documents.

In accordance with President Biden's executive orders, people applying for a new or an updated passport will be allowed to self-identify. “M”, “F” and "X" gender designations will no longer require medical certification if an applicant’s self-selected gender does not match the gender on their other citizenship or identity documents.

The Department has begun moving towards adding a gender marker for non-binary, intersex, and gender non-conforming persons applying for a passport or CRBA.

To reiterate, President Biden accomplished this with an executive order. And cutting to the chase, don't hesitate if you want to get a passport.

Once a passport has been issued or updated the changes are permanent, And importantly, it is a crucial tool should another right-wing hate monger get elected.

US State Department: Selecting Your Gender Marker

A cisgender Twitter user asked what if I no longer identify as a 'sex' because I am 69 years of age?
I can't speak as to what constitutes fraudulently representing your gender on a passport.

However the penailities should discourage anyone who might want to flipantly do this.
