Krystal asks If she kissed a transformer before she transitioned does that make her a homeysexual?

"Its time we told our own jokes, don't you think?" asks Marlo Bernier.

After being deluged ad nauseam with cisgender people playing problematic stereotypically oppressed trans roles the past few years the question is rhetorical. So what better way to express the true trans narrative than with comedy by a veteran of the genre?

2007 when I was faced with a choice; transition or die.  I chose to live and in so doing I knew it would be impossible to continue to keep secrets and so I pulled on my Big Girl Panties and put it all on the line, publicly, as I transitioned from male-to-female/Mark-to-Marlo.

Yes, I have lost a few friends and family along the way.  The calls to audition ceased.  I sacrificed much, but in return I gained much more,  so much more.   And amazingly once I'd stopped hiding from myself, relationships with an overwhelming majority of my family, friends and colleagues only flourished and strengthened and that has certainly never before been more evident than in seeing the quality of artisans who have graciously and enthusiastically attached themselves to Myrna.

I do very much desire for you to understand that though Myrna will tackle some pretty serious issues that it is in no way going to be a funeral dirge,  nor some sordid peek into the transsexual world,  but rather a celebration of life.

Two transsexuals and a Rabi go into a bar.......

As if to add an explanation point to the question producer Marlo Bernier asked regarding telling our own stories, a episode of 'catfish' appears in the 'recomended' videos after her promo.

My friend Darlie offered her personal insight....

"The role of Jan in Myrna was actually my partners, Beverly, who died Nov 1 2012 of stage 4 lung cancer. She loved Marlo and wanted so badly to work with her again but unfortunately she died before the the production solidified. Both of us had worked on Marlo’s play "At Least I will Own a Dress". When the opportunity came up to do it it felt like a chance to do something for her memory."

"Marlo is a terrific actress and a crazy creative person who had been a rock for me before and after Bevs death. Her abilities have no limits. She writes , directs, acts and knows the biz to its core. Myrna is a story she personally knows to it’s soul. It’s an ongoing thing with her own life experience and incorporates a far deeper understanding of the issues than most could write. People will have criticism of the “and then I decided to change my life and become a woman” but that was an intentional comedic mislead. It’s really time to twist up the knowledge of people who don’t fit the mold. I’m looking forward to some fun."

They've nearly raised her funds but its not to late to add your name to this ground breaking effort on the Myrna Fan backed page

Southern Baptists Issue a religious fatwa to murder transgender people

Unlike previous years the 2014 baptist convention pictures are blurred so faces in the forefront are not recognisable.

Hate is a fatal disease.

The Southern Baptists from here on to be referenced as 'the disease' issued a religious edict calling on the largest Protestant denomination in America to murder transgender people.

The southern diseased baptists are afraid, lashing out at the most venerable target available hoping to destroy transgender progress, now that we have passed a tipping point.

This is a cult of hate. A Christian church knows that transgender people are welcomed expressly three times in the Bible.

Yes transgender people have passed the tipping point and we have done it by being normal, considerate affable people. We do it by increasing our visibility and integrating openly into the workplace, getting health care and decent housing.

Breaking: The Transgender Violence Tracking Project has designated the SBC a hate group in response to their decree.

The southern Baptist disease will do anything in their power to deny us life, so its war. The only difference is I am not going to shroud my hate of you with faux love. If war is what you want you bastards want, its war you got.

The disease isn't only focused on transgender people. They hate Islam too.

Its not known if the Muslim scholar studying at the Fort Worth Texas seminary was expelled, but the idiot in charge there apologized profusely for admitting him there. Way to go, you just disenfranchised the worlds 2nd largest religion. Like they need another reason to hate American Christians.

At the center of this hate is a piece of crap called Denny Burk. He co authored the resolution and gloated over it's passing without discussion on his website.

When you cut away all the bullshit the meat of Burks resolution is this:

"RESOLVED, That we oppose efforts to alter one’s bodily identity (e.g., cross-sex hormone therapy, gender reassignment surgery) to refashion it to conform with one’s perceived gender identity; and be it further

RESOLVED, That we continue to oppose steadfastly all efforts by any governing official or body to validate transgender identity as morally praiseworthy (Isaiah 5:20); and be it further

RESOLVED, That we oppose all cultural efforts to validate claims to transgender identity"

This Fatah challenges my faith in a way that no other could. I believe that the disease is not a christian organization. It is a cult, a sect that is a threat to our very existence. The fully understand by following this edict the will substantly increase injustice at every turn. They fully understand this will result in more transgender people becoming unemployed, homeless and murdered.

We must take this to them. We must not allow these diseased people to kill us.

Caught on video: Guy brags about attacking transgender woman Rye Silverman on the way to WEHO Pride

Comedian Rye Silverman wrote on Tumblr about being attacked on her way to the Los Angeles Pride in West Hollywood aka WeHo Pride. Later the prep was filmed bragging about the attack to Mo Fathelbab of "The Experiment" who was interviewing pride attendees and serendipitously recorded him confessing to the hate crime.

Ms. Silverman described the attack:

"I was just getting on the train to go down to Dyke Day as part of Pride weekend. As I was coming down the steps into the station I overheard a guy on the escalator yell “why the fuck are you wearing a skirt?!” I ignored it and just kept walking to buy my ticket.:

"As I’m standing there waiting in line this piece of shit puts his arm on my shoulder and says “Hey women wear skirts.” Because he’d put his hands on me I reacted out of instinct and grabbed him in case he was planning on doing any thing else. He must have only intended to walk away because instead what happened was I ripped his tank top (because of course this fuckwad was wearing a wife-beater) and then he started swinging at me."

Click Here to watch Opens in new window

From here on it’s kind of a blue but it basically turned into a fight. My glasses got flung across the room and we both hit each other a few times before both backed away from each other. He kept putting his fist out like he was planning to hit me again and he started yelling that I started it, that I came after him and that for someone who wears skirts I was “acting like a man,”which he said over and over again. I told him to get the fuck away from me and then some other guy coming off the escalator heard me and stepped in and told him to get away from me too and then a Metro employee showed up so I’m sure someone had gone to get him.

I almost went home but I decided I couldn’t let him ruin my day or my pride weekend. I got my train pass and leaned against a wall to compose myself for a few moments. And then get ready to go down for the train and he’s right there at the bottom of the escalator. I took a wide path around him and got in a car on the other side of the train.

This all just happened less than an hour ago. I typed most of this in the notepad on my phone on the train trying to process it. Mostly I’m still shaken up that it happened at all, that it happened in broad daylight with a group of people around. But at the same time, I’m feeling super proud of myself for having stood my ground. I am not a victim. Not this time. Not ever.

We all love Rye Silverman here at The Experiment. She is not only one of our favorite standup comedians toiling away in the Los Angeles comedy scene, she is also one of our favorite people. (Check out the ‘Why Aren’t You Following?’ profile we did of her in April.) So it pained us to hear that some piece of shit (who is pictured above) attacked her at an L.A. Metro station on Saturday simply because she’s a transgender woman.

She later posted:

The thing that keeps flashing back to me about earlier today is how my attacker kept trying to say “you started it” when he was backing away from me.

The thing is that I can actually understand why in his simple mentality that he truly believes that’s true. Because basically he saw me as less than him, he saw me as someone who he had a right to put his hands on and he never ever expected that I would do anything in response to defend myself. In his mind I actually broke some sort of social contract where he thinks I’m just supposed to take it. That’s why he kept saying I was “acting like a man” for defending myself.

I really want to hear the version of the story he tells where he’s the hero and I’m the villain. I’m morbidly obsessed with that kind of mental process. But I hope that he’ll think twice before putting his hands on anyone else again.

And then a surprise hit the Internet in the form of a Funny or Die video — which featured the attacker… at fuckin’ L.A. PRIDE!

Holy crap!!! This video, 1:40 in, that’s the guy, this is the guy who attacked me. Notice he just says he asked me why I was wearing a skirt, no mention of him grabbing me and getting in my face. Anyone know this piece of shit?

The ENDA Schism: HRC is once again on the outside looking in

A protester begins shadowing this years HRC DC Pride contingent
Photo Oblogdeeoblogda.me
I admit it. I really didn't care that much about this years ENDA religious exemptions. I mean, its obvious the bill would never be introduced into the House with its Republican strangle hold. But its become increasing difficult to ignore,  There is something seriously wrong, and its not just this doomed legislation.

The splitting of the T from the GLB was the impetus that flung planetransgender into the blogosphere with our first crude posts in 2007.

Now once again HRC is being seen as a outsider with ulterior motives regarding the current ENDA Legislation. This time ENDA seems to be overstepping TittleVII religious exemptions making the bill worthless.

So how hard is it to fix?

It could be as it was in 2007 that HRC is a led by a testosterone driven egocentric man who would rather drive his organization over a cliff for a gay win than admit to an error?

And I will admit, I do not fully understand exactly what makes this version of ENDA's religious exemptions so erroneous. What began with GetEqual's protestations, easily dismissed as reactionary by gay.com, is blossoming into a yet another full scale HRC showdown.

So is HRC listening this time?

When the people who were carrying the signs at this years DC Pride (right) went to the front of the HRC contingent they were pushed away. After all these years there's still no place in HRC for dissent.

This years ENDA no matter how doomed will have an effect on next years legislation. So its important to note when ENDA was introduced four trusted human rights organizations, American Civil Liberties Union, Lambda Legal, National Center for Lesbian Rights and the Transgender Law Center expressed their concern over the religious exemptions it contained in a Joint Statement.

That concern has evolved into outright condemnation as HRC continues to push this problematic bill.

Thomas Library of Congress S.815 Religious Exemptions
COMPARE THAT WITH TITLE VII religious exemptions

OK so what about HRC and why are we focusing on them?

Towleroad is reporting that while HRC is raking in millions promoting this bill they have requested an audience with the Pope to protest the firing of LGBT people from Catholic Schools, a practice that this bill would enshrine into law.

HRC is caught with its politically expedient duplicitous beeratches down. Again.

Mark Snyder, spokesperson for the Transgender Law Center, reaffirmed the concerns expressed over the religious exemption in that letter on Thursday via an email to the Washington Blade.

“We reaffirm the joint statement we issued last spring that outlined our very grave concerns with the religious exemption in ENDA that is significantly broader than the exemptions in other federal civil rights laws like Title VII,” Snyder said. “Our laws should not treat discrimination against LGBT people as a more acceptable form of discrimination.”

But Snyder went further on Thursday by unequivocally saying his organization won’t support ENDA as long as the current religious exemption remains in the legislation.

In addition Equality Illinois broke from HRC issuing a statement condemning the religious exemptions. Now that's news.

So what are these religious exemptions and how would they affect you individually? Well for starters do you work for a corporation?

Pumper says her cause was 'noble' and she's 'remorseful' for death caused by silicone injections

Padge Gordon, the transgender woman charged with murder after injecting a fatal does of silicon to enhance the physique of dancer Claudia Seye Aderotimi, says she's 'remorsefull' in a letter to the DA but contends her actions were 'noble'.

The letter  to Philly AG Seth Williams published in part by Philly.com aka the Daily News reads:
"The Philadelphia District Attorney's Office would like to promote [the] thought that it was greed, recklessness and malice that fueled my conduct," she wrote.

"However, I swear that my aim was noble in nature. I simply really just loved the feeling of . . . helping others feel more beautiful, wonderful and magical about themselves - just as someone once helped me."
Aderotimi's friend testified Gordon sealed the puncture wounds caused by the needles with super glue and left Aderotimi in the motel room to die after after she complained she couldn't breath.

Gordon turned down a plea bargain by Williams which would have landed her behind bars for 15 to 30 years. The maximum she can receive for third degree is 40 years. Gordon is seeking a conviction of involuntary manslaughter for which she could be out in as little as 2 1/2 years in her letter to the DA saying:

This woman eventualy died a horrific death.

Gordon was arrested at yet another 'pumper party' Click HERE to watch video

Gordon's letter continues...
"Please let us amicably put this case to rest without any more negative press and media attention on our city . . . which a trial like this would bring," she wrote.

Gorden was charged with murder while in custody for aggravated assault after she gravely injured a woman with industrial grade silicone injections earlier in 2012.

At the time of Windslowe's 2012 arrest, Williams had called her arrogant and greedy.

"Her conduct cost one young woman her life and placed countless others in danger," he said. "The defendant put her own greed above the public's health and safety, and instead of being remorseful she bragged about prospective clients."

Windslowe's murder trial is scheduled for Feb. 17, 2015

International Business Times flaunt transphobic 'she-male ' J.Lo. headline

Apparently the IBN formally a respected international news source is desperate for click generating revenue. The publication has chosen to race for the bottom beating grocery store tabloids, even Dirt.com with a defamatory headline and transphobic story.

....being known to like trans woman is humiliating and he wanted to see her WHAT?!!....

Dirty.com and intouchweekly.com insinuated in their articles that if a partner is outed as a "chaser",  aka a transsexual fetishist, its the worst possible insult to the cisgender woman. That's bad but what expect fom tabloids? There's no accounting for them. But when a respected international news source ups the ante with their defamatory headline,  that's unacceptable.

The problem with this race to the bottom is other less reputable rags take their cue's from from mainstream media and seeing no repercussions and having nothing to lose will mimic the IBN, or worse..

Southern Baptists concede gay victory, contemplate attacking transsexualism

The southern Baptists are no different than any other hate group, they must have someone, or some group to focus on to remain viable.

This weekend they will gather in Baltimore Maryland to decide to what extent they will mask their contempt of transgender people..

Using religious dogma, ignoring passages in the bible that explicitly welcome transgender people 'pastor' Denny Burk, pictured, is asking Southern Baptists to openly hate us.

A lot of people will say, who cares? He's just another evangelical hate filled religious demagogue?

Members of Baptist churches account for one-third of all Protestants and close to one-fifth of the total U.S. adult population. Baptists also account for nearly two-thirds of members of historically black Protestant churches. ~ Pew Report

Chances are good your employer is a Baptist or is affected by the attitudes of Baptists. So, my friends say, the work place is different. Company's have employment protocols? Yeah. Please do not kid yourselves. Religious beliefs always trump corporate policy overtly, if not openly.

What got this Denny Burk so worked up? Laverne Cox Time cover. He even featured it as proof of the transsexual menace.

After reading all the 'we love our transgender friends if they accept our god and ask for his forgiveness for their brokenness' bullshit we come to the real 'pastorial love' of this haters wishes.

Denny Burk warns that
The Employment Non-Discrimination Act (ENDA) has at different times seen majority support in both houses of Congress and would make it illegal for employers to make personnel decisions based on gender identity—a measure that would restrict the religious liberty of Christian employers (SIC) to hate.
Denny Burk's Resolution on Transgender for the SBC to be presented at the Southern Baptist conference June 10th will ask that they....

"condemn efforts to alter one’s bodily identity (e.g., cross-sex hormone therapy, gender reassignment surgery) to bring it into line with one’s perceived gender identity; and be if further

,,,continue to oppose steadfastly all efforts by any court or state legislature to validate transgender identity as morally praiseworthy and be it further

.....commit ourselves to pray for and support legislative and legal efforts to oppose the Employment Non-Discrimination Act and other legislation like it that would give gender identity the same legal protections as sex and race; and be it further

....That we call upon all judges and public officials to resist and oppose the efforts to treat gender identity as a protected class; and be it further

....That we oppose all efforts by media and entertainment outlets and public schools to mainstream transgender identity in the eyes of our children; and be it further...
On and on and on ad nauseum. I get it.. You are filled with hate and now that killing the gay agenda is a lost cause you're coming after us.

Man on the MARTA train said he attacked the transgender woman in response to a sexual Innuendo

Thomas bends down showing  WSBTV how the
transgender woman took off her clothes while fighting off
his accomplice.

Luther Thomas, one of the two men arrested for the two trans woman on a MARTA train told wsbtv.com that he did so because she had told him he liked men with dreadlocks. Trigger warning. Thomas said that the woman became naked in the issuing altercation of her own volition.

"These guys they came on to on me the one who looked exactly like a female said she like guys with dreads"
He said he repeatedly denied their advances and that was what caused the fight.
"The camera didn't show that but she pulled off his skirt" he says that he doesn't hate gay people.

In one frame she was wearing a tube top and bike shorts. During the next frame her top was pulled down and during the ensuing scuffle on the floor she emerged holding her clothes.

So she was fighting for her life and thought hey what a great time to get naked?

As far as being a come on that's highly doubtful. The other trans woman was heard saying 'just stop it' repeatedly. It sounds more like he was trying to sound macho after being fought to draw by this woman.

Did Thomas just confesses to a hate crime?

“I hate that it did happen,” said Thomas. “I hate that I lost my temper. If I could do it all over again I probably would have moved to another car or got off the train or something.” “I don't hate gay people at all. That's not in my character at all. But when you are a gay guy and you come on to a straight guy and I tell you I don't go that way then just let it be.”
The original uncensored video of the fight can be viewed here. Feel free to RT of MT. Can we get some justice Mr DA?

WHO Issues joint statement condemning forced, coercive and involuntary sterilization

The World Health Organization report begins by acknowledging that sterilization is the most-used contraceptive method and fully acceptable by consenting adults who choose it freely.

There in lays the problem. According to Transgender Europe 21 countries in Europe require forced sterilization for identity recognition of a trans person.

In the age of enlightenment TWENTY ONE countries!

RED Sterilization Required
Grey Legal Gender Reconiztion
Blue Sterilization Not Required

Source World Health Organization (WHO):

Like any other contraceptive method, sterilization should only be provided with the full, free and informed consent of the individual. However, in some countries, people belonging to certain population groups, including people living with HIV, persons with disabilities, indigenous peoples and ethnic minorities, and transgender and intersex persons, continue to be sterilized without their full, free and informed consent .

Other individuals may also be at risk of coercive sterilization, such as persons with substance dependence. While both men and women are subject to such practices, women and girls continue to be disproportionately impacted.

Sterilization without full, free and informed consent has been variously described by international, regional and national human rights bodies as an involuntary, coercive and/or forced practice, and as a violation of fundamental human rights, including the right to health, the right to information, the right to privacy, the right to decide on the number and spacing of children, the right to found a family and the right to be free from discrimination. Human rights bodies have also recognized that forced sterilization is a violation of the right to be free from torture and other cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment.

International human rights bodies and professional organizations have explicitly condemned coercive population policies and programmes, noting that decisions about sterilization should not be subject to arbitrary requirements imposed by the government (36–38) and that states’ obligations to protect persons from such treatment extend into the private sphere, including where such practices are committed by private individuals, such as health-care professionals. Coerced and/or forced sterilization of women has also been characterized as a form of discrimination and violence against women. Any form of involuntary, coercive or forced sterilization violates ethical principles, including respect for autonomy and physical integrity, beneficence and non-maleficence.

This statement aims to contribute to the elimination of forced, coercive and otherwise involuntary sterilization. It reaffirms that sterilization as a method of contraception and family planning should be available, accessible, acceptable, of good quality, and free from discrimination, coercion and violence, and that laws, regulations, policies and practices should ensure that the provision of procedures resulting in sterilization is based on the full, free and informed decision-making of the person concerned. It highlights guiding principles for the prevention and elimination of coercive sterilization and provides recommendations for legal,

Referendum effort FAILS in Maryland. Transgender people to keep citizenship rights

Standing at the Secretary of State's office in Annapolis at midnight key leaders in the effort to pass the law were overjoyed when no one appeared to submit signatures.  Therefore, the Fairness for All Marylanders Act will go into effect as planned on October 1.
Immediately, after the Fairness for all Marylanders act was passed ultra-right wing delegate Del. Neil Parrott announced that he would try to repeal it.

The specter of having a majority vote on a minority's right is daunting enough. Added to that PETITION. MD had a slick online process with which they had previously collected enough signatures to force votes on progressive legislation.

But this time the public wasn't taken in with their hate mongering, dismissing the fears that were trying to instill in them by warning of predictors who were actually men, but in their minds thought they were a woman (sic) Transgender woman, who would use the "Bathroom Bill" to prey on children.

Having lived in Maryland this was personal. In 2011, I was a part of coalition of transgender people who fought tooth and nail against Equality Maryland. We opposed a trans bill supported by them and HRC that was stripped of public accommodations provisions, resulting with the implosion and subsequent rebuilding of EQMD.

This year they got it right and besides a little inconsequential sour grape by wannabe stars, the whole community got behind this.

The tension increased with every tick of the clock as May 31, 2014 as Midnight was the cutoff for Petition.Com to submit the required signatures.

Midnight in Annapolis: Opponents of Fairness for All Marylanders Act Fail to Send Law to Ballot

May 31, 2014 by Marty Rouse, National Field Director.

Pictured right: Delegate Luke Clippinger, Senator Rich Madaleno, Carrie Evans and Keith Thirion of Equality Maryland.

In May, Governor Martin O'Malley proudly signed the Fairness for All Marylanders Act that added gender identity and expression to Maryland's non-discrimination law. However, an opponent of the law, Delegate Neil Parrott, launched a signature collection effort to put the law on the November ballot.

The deadline to submit the first third of the required signatures to the Secretary of State was midnight last night, May 31.

Standing at the Secretary of State's office in Annapolis at midnight key leaders in the effort to pass the law were overjoyed when no one appeared to submit signatures. Therefore, the Fairness for All Marylanders Act will go into effect as planned on October 1.

HRC was proud to be a leader in the effort to pass the bill along with Equality Maryland and others. We also recognize the strong and strategic support from Senator Rich Madaleno and Delegate Luke Clippinger.

P.S. On a personal note it was very special to be standing in Annapolis at midnight with others for whom the fight for LGBT equality is more than just politics; it is personal. Why else would we all be standing outside the Secretary of State's office at midnight? For years, it has been my pleasure and honor to get to know Senator Rich Madaleno and Delegate Luke Clippinger. Their personal commitment to and leadership on marriage and transgender equality has helped make Maryland a national leader on equality. They are dedicated public servants.

Carrie Evans, Executive Director of Equality Maryland, and a former colleague at HRC, has fought hard and smart for LGBT equality for well over a decade. Her personal commitment and political savvy has helped make history in Maryland and beyond. I'm honored to be standing alongside such leaders, no matter the hour.

Big Earls Bait shop and Bar East Texas Gets a Big LGBT Make Over.

Just a few days ago a couple were told we don't like fags and told not to come back to a east Texas eatery and bait shop. "We don't want men wearing dresses coming here" said Big Earl who owner of big Earls Bait Shop just east of Pittsbug Texas .

If Big Earl was talking about them thar transsexuuals, I guess he meant me. I live in Fort Worth, which is a fairly friendly place so I was taken aback by Earls hostility.

Since then Big Earls has had a total makeover, becoming one of the best known stops for LGBT people in east Texas. Earl says y'all come on down to big Earls. According toYELP and Google reviews the food sucks but you might get a lap dance from the big toothless queen, if you are lucky.

Two arrested for attacking and stripping transgender woman on a MARTA train

Two of the men who attacked the transgender woman last week on the MARTA train have been arrested. The ensuing fight which resulted in one of the woman being stripped naked made global news.

Source The Alanta Journal-Constitution:

MARTA Police have arrested two men for their alleged involvement in a fight last week that was caught on video and went viral on the internet.
Frederick L. Missick and Luther L. Thomas were charged with disorderly conduct and have been suspended from the transit service, MARTA officials said.
Two passengers said the fight began after they were harassed by Missick and Thomas because they are transgender, MARTA officials said. Although the brawl was taped by other passengers, MARTA officials say the investigation was hampered by a lack of witnesses willing to come forward.
Missick, 35, was arrested today, according to jail records. Thomas, 34, was arrested Thursday. Both are being held at the Fulton County Jail on $2,500 bond.
Jail records show that Thomas has been arrested twice before by MARTA police. In December 2005, on charges of simple battery, theft by taking and criminal reproduction and sale of recorded material.

Feds spend $200K to find out why transwoman on Facebook get HIV/AIDS and addicted at disproportionately high rates.

From the are you out outta your fucking federated mind file.

The Free Beacon  reports that  "The Friends Research Institute", based in Maryland, received $194,788 last month to begin the project operating on the premise that due to “transphobia” transgendered women are forced to use social media as an outlet, often leading to risky sexual behaviors."

“As a result of discrimination/stigma, prejudice, and individual and structural forms of transphobia, transwomen form dense communities comprised primarily of other transwomen,” it said."

"The latest government research project argues that transwomen use social network websites to “develop social support structures, connect with members of their community, receive positive and re- affirming perspectives on their gender identity, and inform behavioral norms.” They also use online groups to gain illegal hormones and find “sex work partners,” according to the grant."

The grant will enable researchers to understand why our using Facebook as a medium for socializing leads to drug addiction, barebacking, wild drug parties and prostitution.

The sound of screeching brakes followed by a thick blue cloud of WTF?

OK, maybe I don't travel in circles that encourage chasers or drug use and I'm sure there are groups of people on Facebook who leave themselves open to suggestions for said activities, but as a preponderance of purpose for us to facebook I'm like, are you outta of your ever loving federated minds?

When I lived on the street the last thing I had money for was Internet. Seriously feds, get a grip.

Or am I just naive? You tell me. Is there an increased risk of HIV infection should I click the facebook icon?

I know I'm a constant target for predators there, and I suppose if I were young dumb and full of estrogen I might have actually met one of those men who have tried to engage me. Today someone started a PM and quickly asked if I wanted to 'party' and see pictures of him. Was that one of the fed's hand puppets?

Or was that a missed opportunity to become re-addicted to sex and drugs?

In any case I feel like I am being spied on by the federal government in the only safe space I know of. Hey feds I got a message for you. FUCKING FUCK OFF and leave us alone. Yes this is the only safe place we have to gather. DUH? Put that in your study and smoke it.

Or is this study a good idea? Supposedly this study will be contained to "IPAD Studies" and not entail  casually trolling our pages like I'm sure that they did in the first place in order to get the idea for the grant.

Is Laverne Cox helping or hurting transgender people?

This magazine rip off is not a exercise in narcissism. I just fit all of the parameters.

With the recent plethora of gorgeous gender conforming trans spokes people, I have a question. What about the 99%? The people who nominally fit stereotypical gender expectations? Or what about those of us who don't fit at all.

And what of those of us who refuse to conform at all? Those people were once covenanted for their nonconformity as pioneers. Will they now be considered pariahs?

Personally I think this has been great, like riding a social tsunami triggered by the overwhelming female humanity of Laverne Cox.
But what happens after we are washed up 100 miles inland stranded alone in our personal realities dealing with anxiety, the kind that convinces so many us to get 'pumped'?

One gender therapist warns us to be aware of the machine that is making this happen saying
And how can we not be left with our mouth agape at the head-to-toe shot of actress and trans activist Laverne Cox. The caption reads, “Laverne Cox, a star of Orange is the New Black, is one of an estimated 1.5 million Americans who identify as transgender.” I have watched hundreds of my social media friends in the transgender community commenting on this cover story with astonishment, joy, and hope. My own initial reaction was one of shock, followed by great excitement.

However, as the day progressed on, and the news continued to spread, and the comments continued to pour in, I felt something…unsettling come up for me about it. I couldn’t put my finger to it until I had a conversation with one of my clients, when I asked her what she thought of the upcoming cover story.
Laverne Cox is now the “face,” and therefore the voice, of the Transgender Population in the eyes of many Americans.

Now…let us not forget that Ms. Cox also just happen to be drop-dead gorgeous.
So let’s be honest about what that means as we look at this snapshot of this moment in time (no pun intended).
There was a conscious decision made to put Ms. Cox on the cover of TIME magazine. Not a montage of “everyday transgender folks” that included persons having many different experiences, including those who transitioned from female-to-male and who are gender non-conforming.
This is a glamorous photo of a very feminine, well-dressed, television actress who happens to be transgender. This photo represents the entire “transgender civil rights movement.”

RuPaul's Drag Race winner Bianca Del Rio tells Carmen Carrera to "stick whats left of your dick in your mouth and STFU"

Drag queen Bianca Del Rio, pictured left, crowned winner of Rupauls drag race on May 19th wasted no time putting his contempt of transgender people on full blast.

Del Rio told  the audience "I think Carmen Carrera should stick whats left of her dick and shove it in her mouth"

Del Rio raised his arms as the audience clearly recognized he went to far.

What could have caused Del Rio to attack her so viciously? Carmen Carrera was a contestant on Season 3 of Rupauls Drag race and afterwards has enjoyed success as a transgender model. Is that the only reason? No it is not. Carman has gently been trying to ask that  Rupaul stop using transgender defamation.

Bianca Del Rio sees that as a betrayal of gaydom. He sees Carmen as a turncoat, but more than that. Del Rio now sees Carrera as a target, less than human to despise and denigrate. Del Rio sees Camen as transgender.

I posted Del Rio's comments unedited because of how his words actualize the hatred being spewed by RuPaul and his gay fans toward transgender people. What he said:

Carmen Carrera comes out as transgender on "What would you do".

Once again I have to ask. Does LOGO want to be branded with this hate? And oh yeah, where's GLAAD?

Drag show "Tranny Shack" rebranding to "T Shack"

Heklina, the owner of the drag show formely known as "tranny shack" has announced that it will be known in the future as "T Shack". She say she has done so becuse society has come to understand that transgender people find the word 'tranny' offensive.

Heklina posted the following message to Facebook:

Hey everyone! I just thought it was time for me to chime in and have my voice be heard. There’s been a lot of discussion, and a lot of it has been great to read, as this, for me and so many others, is a timely issue. Poor Brian Daniel Peters and LA Kendall LaBree have been dealing with the drama and speaking on my behalf, but now it’s time for me to chime in. I generally loathe to be political, but whether I like it or not the very name of my legendary nightclub has become political.
First, a little history about the name Trannyshack, and the club itself. When I started the club (waaaaaay back in 1996) the word “tranny” did not have the charged weight to it that it has today. Simply put, it was not (arguably) considered a slur word, and not even thought of on the same level as the words “dyke” or “faggot” (two words which, maybe ironically, have somehow become less charged and have been “reclaimed” to a certain degree-for instance, leading the Pride Parade in San Francisco every year are the Dykes On Bikes. I can’t imagine in this day, a contingent called Trannies On Bikes). There are people who might argue this, but I’m sorry it just was not a word thought of as a slur on the same level as today. It was just not. I considered the name transgressive, and cutting edge.

The club itself? It became a legendary San Francisco institution. A bastion of alternative drag and diversity. Every walk of life came to, and performed at, Trannyshack. Gay men, lesbians, drag kings, drag kings, M to F’s, F to M’s, Faux Queens, and yes, even straight people. It won every award for Best Drag show in SF every year, and is generally thought to have redefined drag on the West Coast. It didn’t matter (and still does not) what gender you were, or what you had between your legs, if you were a great performer you were welcome on the Trannyshack stage. It grew to mean a great deal to a great many people.

I am, and will always be, immensely proud of what I have accomplished with Trannyshack. It’s given me so many great experiences, it’s afforded me the great luxury of not having to live in the 9 to 5 world (which would kill me), and I have had the even greater luxury of working with and meeting the most incredible people. It’s no exaggeration to say it’s been my life’s work.
However. Increasingly, and in the past year especially, it’s become clear to me the meaning the word tranny has taken on. I’ve tried to avoid the issue because I’ve spent almost 20 years branding and promoting my club. But more and more, I am asked on the street, in interviews, and online about my thoughts on the word, and the name of my club. I’ve given the answer “Oh, my club is different, it means so much to so many people, it’s this it’s that, etc.”, but it’s been nagging at me. I started to talk to people close to me about the need for a rebrand. What really was the clincher for me was a post I saw on Facebook by a performer at my club . I wasn’t tagged in the post, but came across it anyway. He said how excited he was to be performing at my club but, out of embarrassment, he couldn’t type the name of it, and something along the lines of “you all know where it is”. Ouch, OK. Time for a rebrand.

I am in the business of (hopefully) entertaining people. It’s never been my intention to hurt people. I am not another Shirley Q. Liquor, wanting to offend just for sake of it. Also, on a purely business level, I don’t want to be viewed as archaic, out of step with the times, like an ostrich with my head in the sand.
OK, a rebrand. How to go about it? Time to test the waters. But, where to start? When Brian asked me to bring Trannyshack to Seattle for Pride, I thought this was a good place to start. I suggested the name T-Shack. Let’s see how this works, I thought. As expected, many people familiar and loyal to the Trannyshack brand were up in arms, and I received several messages along the lines of “You caved in to pressure” and “You sold out” (? Not sure what that one means). OK. I can deal with this.
But, I was taken aback by the response from many in the trans community. It seems I cannot win with some people. They are not happy when I call it Trannyshack, and they are not happy when I try to rebrand (granted, there were some aspects of the roll-out for the Seattle event that were a bit clunky, but still). This to me does not seem right.

Just to clear a couple of things up. The event on Friday June 27 is not “Trannyshack presents T-Shack” as some people have said (and I would invite anyone to show me where it says this on any of the materials). It plainly says who is actually presenting it. The word Trannyshack appears on the materials to let those familiar with the brand know what the event is. When the full rebrand happens this kind of wording will be necessary initially (i.e. “AKA Trannyshack”, then “Formerly known as Trannyshack”) until we can phase it out completely. It’s also unrealistic to expect everyone to stop using the name Trannyshack right away when they discuss it online , or even in person. As preciously mentioned , I’ve relentlessly promoted the brand for almost 20 years, so it’s ingrained in people’s consciousness. It will take time. To use a ridiculous comparison, it’s like when Kentucky Fried Chicken decided to only be referred to as KFC. It took awhile. I know, I told you the comparison was ridiculous.
When will the full rebrand happen? Most likely not until the beginning of the new year. In San Francisco, it’s going to require focus groups, a press campaign, all that stuff. It really is that big of a deal here. Also, I have not as of yet decided what the final name will be. I used T-Shack for the Seattle event because that is what the insiders of my circle of friends have always called it, so I’m trying it out. Other names have been thrown around. Drag-Shack does not seem right. Maybe simply The ‘Shack. I don’t know, that’s why it will take a few months.
Ultimately, when it happens I will need the support of EVERYBODY. That means all of those loyal to the Trannyshack brand , as well as the Trans community.
As I see it, there’s two ways we can deal with this. We can see this as progress and a step forward, or we can engage in fighting and divisiveness. Whichever one you choose I am going for progress, and away from hurt and anger. Please also know that I do not engage in Facebook “threads”, as I simply do not have time, and they tend to become masturbatory and a contest of who will have the last word. If you post a comment under this post I will not reply to it.
But! For those interested in having a face to face dialogue, I would LOVE that. I have a “date” with Danielle Niki Askini when I am in Seattle to sit down for coffee and go over ideas, and just talk. If you would like to join us please email me directly at heklina@earthlink.net (I guess I am archaic after all, I’m still on earthlink). We haven’t figured out a time yet. Best time for me would be Monday morning after Pride weekend
Xoxo

Two Trans woman attacked and stripped on a MARTA train police looking for Perps

Tuesday two transgender woman were followed by a group of men as they boarded a MARTA train in Atlanta. The men had been harassing them and when the train departed it became worst. One of the woman took a more defensive role and one of the men attacked her.

I have posted the unedited version because the censored one does not show the faces of the attackers. If you have any information on this attack please contact MARTA police.

Channel 2 Ryan Young spoke with the women and MARTA officials about the video.

The women told Young they were walking to the Five Points MARTA station when a group of men approached them and started yelling at them. They said the strangers followed them into the station and waited on the platform next to them while taking pictures. They said they believe the strangers targeted them because they are transgender.

“[They] just kept of asking us was we real,” said Janell Crosby. “Like really trying to get us. ‘Are you real?’ 'Are y’all this or that?’ Just trying to embarrass us.”
"They were trying to find out if we are men or women,” said Tyra Woods. “I shouldn’t have to disclose who I am to an innocent person who I’m not even interested in talking to.”
Crosby and Woods say they were harassed, attacked and embarrassed, and no one came to give them any help.
“I really didn’t want to fight, but he just kicked me and tried to make a big scene,” said Crosby.
“It’s all over the internet and like, I’m naked,” said Woods. “I felt like since it was in a public transportation, we should’ve felt like we should’ve been secure.”
Officials said they won’t stand for that type of behavior and have opened an investigation into what happened on the train. They are actively searching for the two men who may have started the fight.
